Hand sculpted and mounted on a wood backer, Cerise is an original work inspired by water formations you can find in almost every water scenery. While some lines were inspired by river ways, upon further inspection, they are also images of the way the shore dives into the water from a horizontal viewpoint. In the creation of this project, I learned that the imagery in every type of water landscape is closely related, whether it's a marshy shore in the bayou, or a saltwater beach.
The sculpture is then treated with a sandblasted textural element. The sand used is typically found in aquariums and the beautiful colorful sand vase art found in coastal themes. This gives the artwork an organic feel, perfectly balancing out the clean lines. Everything is finished on the edge, framing the sculptural artwork.
French cleat hardware attached on both top and bottom, and installation instructions included.
